What is a trophy? Is it a monster 12 point in Kansas,or a big ole Eastern North Carolina sow taken over a spin feeder? Well, the truth is......BOTH are equally as important to the hunter. Some folk may never have hunted for Elk before and are proud of that cow they arrowed at 22 yards on public land as you are of that 7x7 you took on a semi guided hunt.
As an avid wild hog hunter, who doesn't have much luck some years, my proudest moment was the day I took a 90lb sow on public land with a 22lr. My second most memorable one was the first wild hog my dad got on the property we were leasing. Both hogs were trophys to me and I would not change those moments for a million dollars. I have a few mounts on the wall, sure, but every animal, every time is a trophy to me. It shouldnt matter if you're on a paid hunt, or hunting in the deepest, darkes,t spookiest woods anyone has ever seen, on public land, that hunt, that picture or shoulder mount in the livingroom, that brings you back to that moment ,and how awesome you felt knowing you had accomplished something that not every man in the woods has done. That,my friend, is the trophy.
My dad, of course he's a member. he was around 78 years old when this was taken. yall think he's happy
